Clothes Moth Multiple Trap & Lures kit
Female clothes moths can lay up to 200 eggs at a time, these develop into larvae that feed on fabrics and clothing causing significant damage. The adult moths do not cause the damage, the male moths spend their time looking for females to mate with and the female moths search for suitable egg laying sites. By catching the male moths , the overall population can be signficantly reduced, as less mating takes place and hence less egg laying by the females.
To attract the male moths into the sticky traps, a pheromone lure is placed on the sticky surface inside the trap. This gives off a sex pheromone that attracts the male clothes moth into the trap, which then is caught on the sticky surface inside the trap. The traps can each catch high numbers of clothes moths.
Each pheromone lure is active for up to six weeks. The Clothes Moth Mutiple Trap & Lures kit is supplied with 5 traps and 10 pheromone lures. After six weeks , the Clothes moth pheromone lure should be replaced with a new one. It is important to keep the lures active to maintain catching the male moths. The lure is simply removed from its foil packaging and placed on the sticky inside the trap.
Place the traps in places where Clothes moth damage has occured, such as in wardrobes , large draws and cupboards. If you have natural carpets, these can also provide ideal egg laying sites for clothes moth, so place a trap in these areas also.
When the traps are full of moths, replace with new traps.
