Spider mites or two spotted mites (Tetranychus urtica) are a common pest found in greenhouses or hydroponic set ups. These mites cause leaf damage by sucking out the contents of plant cells leaving discoloration in white splotchy patches across the leaves. We offer several biological controls to combat these mites with the following advice;

Severe infestations use the predator Phytoseiulus persimilis. This predator consumes large amounts of pest and reproduces quickly to control the outbreak.

Medium/low infestations use a combination of Phytoseiulus persimilis and Amblyseius andersoni, this will provide targeted control for all stages of the pest life cycle from eggs to adults.

Preventative treatment use Amblyseius andersoni sachets to keep predators on the plant at all times, stopping outbreaks before they can occur.
